Volunteer Information
The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center Volunteers Association was formed in 2002 by a group of people who are dedicated to connecting the community with nature, educating people of all ages on wildlife and natural resources, and encouraging environmental conservation.
Would you like to become a volunteer of this Association? Here are a few suggestions on what you could do.
Weekend helper at the Education Center: During the months of May, June, July, August, and September, the Education Center is open on Saturdays from 1:00 - 5:00 and on Sundays from 1:00 - 5:00, with longer hours on special dates and events. Volunteers are needed to help answer questions and talk to visitors. You would be paired with another volunteer, so you won't be left alone! Training is provided before you help at the Center. Training lessons and workshops are available for free to active members.
Flower beds: There are many flower beds around the Education Center that need planted, weeded, trimmed, and maintained. If you have a green thumb and enjoy working with the flowers, this may be for you!
Educational programs: There are many school, scout, and other community groups that request an interpretative tour of the Education Center or programs outside the center. Times depend on the needs of the group, and group volunteers provide these tours and programs.
Work days: There are always maintenance jobs that need done around the center, and there is always a need to help keep the Wildlife Center enter clean.
Attend the meetings: The group meets one Thursday each month and at other times as needed. You earn volunteer hours by attending these meetings.
Build birdhouses: We are currently looking for people who would build birdhouses to sell at the Center gift shop to earn money for projects at the Education Center.
Others: If you have any other talents that would benefit the group, please be sure to list them on your membership application.
Training: Training sessions are available and suggested for anyone who would like to become a Volunteer. These sessions are scheduled at various times of the year as needed.
If you would like to become a member with our group, go to the Membership Form page. Send the application with your check made out to the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center to the address on the form. You will be contacted once your membership is received.
