Funding comes strictly from donations and local fundraising efforts.
Would you like to become a member of this Association?
There are two types of membership available: Active and Supporting.
· Active memberships are available to people who are willing to give their time and money to the support and betterment of the Wildlife Education Center. It is required that active members spend a minimum of fifteen (15) hours per year on Wildlife Education Center projects, activities or helping at the Center on the weekends.
· Supporting memberships are available to persons or groups who would like to donate money or supplies to the Center. There is no requirement for time to become a supporting member.
If you choose to be an Active Member, there is a requirement of 15 hours of volunteer time for the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center. How can you get that volunteer time??? Here are a few suggestions.
Weekend helper at the Education Center: During the months of May, June, July, August, and September, the Education Center is open on Saturdays from 2:00 - 6:00 and on Sundays from 2:00 - 6:00, with longer hours on special dates and events. Volunteers are needed to help answer questions and talk to visitors. You would be paired with another volunteer, so you won't be left alone! Training is provided before you help at the Center. Training lessons and workshops are available for free to active members.
Flower beds: There are many flower beds around the Education Center that need planted, weeded, trimmed, and maintained. If you have a green thumb and enjoy working with the flowers, this may be for you!
Educational programs: There are many school, scout, and other community groups that request an interpretative tour of the Education Center. Times depend on the needs of the group, and group volunteers provide these tours.
Work days: There are always maintenance jobs that need done around the center, and there is always a need to help keep the Wildlife Center enter clean.
Attend the meetings: The group meets one Tuesday each month and at other times as needed. You earn volunteer hours by attending these meetings.
Build birdhouses: We are currently looking for people who would build birdhouses to sell at the Center to earn money for projects at the Education Center.
Others: If you have any other talents that would benefit the group, please be sure to list them on your membership application.
If you would like to become a member with our group, go to the Membership Form page. Send the application with your check made out to the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center to the address on the form. You will be contacted once your membership is received.
